Actress Thuli Phongolo Withdraws Assault Case Against DJ Maphorisa

Amapiano music producer Themba Sekowe, famous by the name of DJ Maphorisa has been arrested for allegedly attacking his girlfriend, Thuli Phongolo.

According to City Press, the actor opened the case and explained the details of the incident in a statement appearing in the post.

He said the case occurred Sunday at noon after facing Maphorisa about the controversy they had on Saturday.

“ I faced him to talk about our disputes that happened last night during his party ... He grabbed me and took me to the balcony, and held me around the neck in a mess,” Thuli said as quoted by the post.

The newspaper also quoted a source that revealed that this was not the first time for the couple to argue.

“ They fought in early December after the accusations of infidelity. They fought again last month but did not reach the police station.”

Thuli initially denied having a relationship with Maphorisa. The two invented dating rumors in 2021 when their video played dance to spread on social networks. As people continue to think they were lovers, Thuli used his Twitter page to turn off the rumors.
